biograPHY
Throughout all his life, Luis has always had a passion for music. At an early age he began playing latin percussion and developed a rhythmic passion for all types of music. He gives praise to his father for teaching him how to play congas and instilling latin music into him. Although born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Luis would visit the island of Puerto Rico every summer with his father to experience the culture and folklore music during his adolescent years.
Luis got further into music when he started taking lessons at the age of 10. There he started to flourish learning music theory and taking piano lessons for two years. Then at the age of 14 he switched to trumpet and played with his high school band and jazz ensemble. Luis is no stranger to stage performances. During his high school years he performed as a hip-hop rapper and vocal percussionist (human beatboxing). Even after high school Luis continued with the trumpet until he decided to take a break from the instrument.
Luis wanted to be a professional musician but didn’t pursue his dreams at that time. Throughout the years Luis was always connected to music and his piano. He continued being involved with music somehow either by participating in music related events as a promoter but mostly behind the scenes. Luis has a unique talent and he is gifted in expressing his love for music from his soul.
Recently, Luis has been working on his own music style that has taken him more than three years to perfect. He has released his first single “TU CALOR” in 2020 as the composer, the arranger and pianist. He is also the solo artist on his single. Luis continues to work on more than 15 composed songs and arranging on his conceptual songs … and he doesn’t plan to stop now.
